Why does my wife protect her mother?

ive seen where the spouse sides with their parents even when the parent does something to the child, esp to harm them. its like they are afraid to stand up to them. but u need a serious talk with your wife. if she isnt willing to compromise, then you need to think about whats best for your child. if your mil is being abusive towards him, it is your right as the father to stand up to her because that is your child. and if your wife doesnt realize the burden her mother is putting on the marriage, maybe you should consider if she wanted in the marriage for security and to leave her mom who sounds like a controlling person. but until you put your foot down sternly, both your mil and wife will continue to walk all over you and your son.
