Yes, it sounds like you started your period. You sound like me when I first started mine-ashamed of it and afraid to let anyone know I had it. Guess what? Living like that sucks. Every female-bodied person who is between puberty and menopause and hasn't had their cycle stopped medically has a menstrual period. Your teachers have it, many of your friends have it, your mother's had it, the checker at the grocery store has it...hell, the woman driving the bus has it. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
